FAQ

Common questions

Which calculator tells me how many lots I can trade on my account?

The margin calculator, using the applicable leverage cap and your balance. For reference, at the cap a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin, so you can check whether a planned size fits before you open the order. It answers the sizing question, not the risk question.

Which tool answers what one pip is worth on my gold position?

The pip value calculator. For XAU/USD one pip is 0.01, and one standard lot is 100 oz, so pip value scales with your lot size. That number is what you pair with your stop distance to see the money at risk on a trade.

Where do I work out profit or loss before taking a trade?

The profit calculator takes your entry, exit and lot size and returns the dollar result. It is the tool to use when you are comparing a 0.10-lot idea against a 0.50-lot idea, so the difference in outcome is a number rather than a feeling.

Which tool helps me set a stop or target around a price level?

The pivot points calculator gives you reference levels from the prior session, which you can use to place stops and targets around structure rather than round numbers. It does not predict direction; it gives you levels to measure your risk against.

Do I need all the calculators, or can I start with one?

Start with position size and pip value together, because those two decide whether a trade is affordable. Add margin when you are checking leverage, profit when you are comparing outcomes, and pivot points when you want levels. Each tool answers one question, so use the one matching the decision in front of you.
